What Is the Cheaper Home Batteries Program?

This initiative is designed to support more homes in adopting battery technology by offering upfront rebates on battery purchases and installations.

Up to $3,300 rebate for a standard 10kWh battery

Uncapped program – no limit on the number of rebates

The subsidy is not means-tested.

Add-on batteries eligible if you already have a system

Rebate reduces gradually each year until 2030
Am I Eligible?

To qualify for the rebate:

The battery must be Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved

Installation must be done by a CEC-accredited battery installer (Green Light Electrical Services)

The battery must have a capacity of 5kWh or more
-
It must be VPP-capable (Virtual Power Plant ready)

The battery must not be switched on before 1 July 2025
